'Don't Worry Darling' Opens To Impressive $19.2M at the U.S Box Office

Olivia Wilde's film Don't Worry Darling, which was released in more than 4,000 U.S. cinemas,

debuted to a strong $19.2 million at the U.S. box office on its first weekend, according to Variety.

The movie also earned an additional $10.8 million overseas, increasing its overall earnings to $30 million.

Despite having a 38 percent approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes, the movie received a favorable audience rating of 80 percent.

According to Variety, 66% of ticket purchasers were female, with the majority falling between the ages of 18 and 34.

In a statement to the press on Sunday, Warner Bros., the company that released the $35 million film,

reportedly said, "We're extremely proud of this film and are happy with these results given our small production budget."
