KLAS LAS VEGAS - Four-foot-high waves were created in Death Valley's Devil's Hole by a strong earthquake that struck Mexico earlier this week.

The 7.6-magnitude earthquake had its origin about 100 miles southeast of Guadalajara.

It took 22 minutes for the quake, which happened on Monday at 11:05 a.m. Pacific time,

to have an effect on the water at Devil's Hole in Death Valley National Park.

According to the Park Service, the waves in Devil's Hole were up to about four feet high.
